I  have had a love affair with glass for as long as I can remember. I have  always had an overabundance of creative energy, working in the visual  and performing arts particularly music, dance,, and culinary arts my whole life.  I love the dance of color and light I can create with glass.

My work is primarily sculptural and distinctly Contemporary with a very  "organic" quality to my pieces. Each series, each piece, is rooted in a  story relating to a part of my life....places I've lived, or special  memories. Sometimes even people that have left their mark along the way.   In addition to maximizing it's textural qualities, working in  abstracts I work with the light, and the ongoing dance between light  and glass that creates magnificent "shadow-plays" of color, shape and  design in a space. Many of my pieces are intentionally very delicate, as  I think glass is the perfect medium to make a powerful statement of how fragile aspects of life can be. Whether it's something personal that I  am recalling from a memory of a very shattered past where I have been  determined to find beauty; or creating pieces reflecting the environment  around me, and our changing climate. My Ice Glass Sculptures are  definitely influenced by the decades I spent living in the frozen  Midwest winters, and my Ledges and Glass Scapes come from my life in  Arizona, where I consider my "soul's home".  There is a very fluid,  ongoing water theme that runs through much of my work, having spent a  good deal of time on the Great Lakes, and as an Aquarius; always feeling  an inner draw to water by nature. The Taffy Glass Series has a unique story all its own relating to a childhood memory.

Nothing  I do is about production. It is ALL about heart, soul and inspiration;  which is how SOUL FUSION ARTS got its name. Everything around me, be it  natural, industrial or entirely spiritual; I see as a creation in glass.  An emotion can evoke an entire concept for a piece. For me, glass  is like a living organism and I find that very exciting. Every type of  glass has a personality all its own, and sometimes "it decides" what it  wants to be.  I believe I have to respect the glass and all its  characteristics, and then a story can unfold. And with each piece, I  tell a story, or give a little glimpse into my life. So it is an  extremely personal process for me.

I  don't "make art". I create pieces that create something in me. It feeds  my soul. For me, being in the process that connects to a special,  almost sacred space deep within that allows me to create; brings me into  a deeper connection with the Divine. Art is a very necessary, spiritual  and meditative process for me. We all need to find our inner voice.

Mine  has always told me to do 2 things in life  1.) to help make the world a  better place and   2.) to release joy and beauty into the world.  Art  is a great connector. It is my sincerest wish that somehow I can  contribute at least in some small way to bringing light, joy, and mutual  understanding in our world through the beauty and appreciation of art  while also creating awareness of how each of us, as well as the  environment we live in: are both fragile and strong, sometimes clear and  sometimes a bit opaque....just like this amazing medium.
